Library Connectivity Solutions
An Axia FibreNet connection allows libraries the ability to open up the world of information and possibilities for residents. Access to online library resources can be shared across the province, the country and the world and help to bridge the digital divide.
Library Services
Libraries provide the tremendous public service of allowing people access to information in free and open facilities..
Axia FibreNet helps continue this tradition by providing a high-performance network that serves communities across the province quickly and fairly.
Libraries with fibre connections become virtual technology hubs that offer multiple ways for people to interact with new forms of communication.
Marigold Secures a Stronger Connection
The Challenge
Before connecting to FibreNet, the Marigold Library System only had access to dialup Internet. This limited the types of services they were able to offer their patrons, as well as the core business applications they could run internally.

Before connecting to FibreNet, the Marigold Library System only had access to dialup Internet. This limited the types of services they were able to offer their patrons, as well as the core business applications they could run internally.
The Solution
The Marigold Library System and Axia had to work together to figure out the requirements for the network infrastructure and implementation. Axia FibreNet then connected the Marigold Library System to the network which provided them with many advantages such as a secure as a secure network that is monitored 24/7 by Axia’s security experts. Axia network specialists are trained to respond immediately to any unusual trends that might indicate a virus attack, preventing it before it can take the network down.
The Result
Today, Marigold, with the support from the provincial government and The Alberta Library, offers high speed broadband connections in all its locations. One of seven library systems, The Marigold Library System serves 41 communities and over 200,000 residents in South-Central Alberta, through 35 member libraries. Recently upgrading their bandwidth at the main library to 100Mbps, they’ve been able to increase the bandwidth to all connected libraries. In addition to online library services, libraries are using more technology for visitors to download more information and studies at their finger-tips as well as the ability to host live video feeds in real time. Residents are able to use Marigold’s high speed Internet access to conduct business online, and look after banking and other personal needs.
